All I had to do was do some light filing with an emery board and polished with a 3M sheet (D'addario Fret Polishing Papers) on the bottom edges from the molding process. I used a little Titebond to glue it in. I cannot believe how much this one little part changed the sound of my guitar for the better. It sounds much more articulate than it did with the plastic nut. The guitar… read more plays better and there is absolutely no binding at the nut. I did not touch the slots on the nut at all. I was a little apprehensive on which nut to buy because on different websites people had said that this nut was too short and caused buzzing. While this nut was a millimeter or two shorter than the stock one, it was just a little bit taller than a perfect fit, which is absolutely perfect because you can always take away material. I wish I had changed the nut on my guitar sooner.
