Essential on a violin with geared tuning pegs

Violin strings should never be cut so winding the full length of a violin string on a geared peg, usually four to one takes a long time and if you're replacing all the strings you'll jump at the chance to buy one of these to simplify the task. The only thing better (and I don't carry one in my violin case) is a winder that can be used in an electric drill.
