Nice pedal - needs better manual
As with Voodoo Lab products, they just work well but need better manuals. AJ my sales agent help me get this pedal quickly delivered to my home. As can be seen as I am assembling the pedal a few days ago, PX-8 fits nicely. ( Still finalizing permanent wiring instead of store bought cabling) I should state that these pedals are installed on a Fender Professional Pedalboard also… read more purchased from Sweetwater, as are most of these pedals.
Exactly What I Needed
I spent the better part of two months looking at reviews and tutorials for numerous switchers. Ultimately I went with the PX-8 Plus and I am glad I did. Programming is very easy and intuitive. The PX-8 Plus has given me way more flexibility than I had anticipated and has restored some of the high frequencies that had been lost due to pedals being daisy chained together and always… read more in the loop. Although I don't use MIDI at this time, having the capability of MIDI is a great feature. This thing is built solid and feels great. The switches are high quality as are the I/O's. I am also glad that this was built in the USA. I'm glad I went with the PX-8 Plus.
A dream come true
This is exactly the thing I was looking for! I was definitely intimidated by the price and not having the knowledge to just hook it up, but the voodoo labs guys at gear fest really explained it well. After I got it home and installed, it worked perfectly. It's easy to program and use. If you have a lot of pedals and did a lot of tap dancing during your songs, this is the ticket!
Love this thing!
Simple and rugged, like all VooDoo Labs products. I found this switcher very intuitive to program once all of the pedals were connected. I like how you can easily switch between preset mode and being able to on-off any pedal. I should have gotten one of these years ago!!!
All You Need
I was looking for a programmable bypass looper with midi control and there are a few cheaper options out there but after reading a number of reviews and youtube tutorials on how to program and operate it all seemed either far too involved to do simple operations or lacked midi functions that I really wanted. Some of the cheaper units out there had reviews stating issues with saved… read more midi information being lost. Other loopers were much more expensive or too large taking up 2 rail spaces on something like a pedaltrain pedalboard. The px-8 plus takes up one rail space, and simple midi function. I'm only running 1 delay pedal with midi so admittedly I can't say I run a very elaborate midi based pedalboard but this unit really does what I need. I run this with my DD-500 delay and basically preset 1-36 are just midi channel 1-36. So I just determine which preset I want to assign to which delay patch and it changes my delay as I toggle through the presets. The buttons don't "click" for better or worse. I really don't care whether my footswitch clicks or not. Operates on 100mA 9V power which is great because you don't need to burn a higher volt or mA output from your power supply unit. And what I really like about this unit that it's really easy to add loops to your existing presets and it can be done via foot operation and on the fly. Anyone who had a gig where they thought they had the right pedals programed only to realize in the middle of the song you added or needed to add in a pedal, with this unit with one click you can easily get into the program mode so you can add/take out whichever loop you want. My previous unit I had to push a button to get into edit mode (not a foot switch but a button) which can be annoying in the middle of a gig. If you want solely a 8 channel looper, save your money, because there's lots of other choices out there for much less. Get this unit if you have midi capable pedals and want/need programmable loop presets with 36 presets. If you need more than 36 presets I remember seeing you can interface with something like a midi mouse and get 128 presets. I'm good with 36...more than I need. This looper is a life saving! digital multi-effects unit convenience but great analog sound from the pedals of my choosing.
