The best vintage pickups!
I built 2 relic strats with USACG bodies and necks and needed pickups. I am using Lindy Frailin's, Seymour Duncan's, Fender, and DiMarzio in other strat style guitars and they are all great in the own ways. But none give that old, aged pickup sound that you would expect from a 1957 Strat! I was looking for that true 60 year old sound and I found them with Mojo's. They are not… read more high output so if you are expecting a driving hard pickup don't get them. But if you want authentic vintage pickups dripping with tone then these are for you! They react to your pick attack and just allow you to squeeze out all kinds of beautiful tones. These pups are also made by hand in North Carolina and if you don't know of Rene Martinez then you should do some homework on him also. Mojo also has a tone guarantee and with Sweetwater's service and guarantee you truly can't go wrong. I now have 3 sets of them in 3 different guitars and couldn't be happier..
Holy Tone
I bought these along with Emerson pots to eventually put into a Strat I am building (Cut my pieces of wood for the body and neck but am waiting till late summer for them to be nice and dry) but in the time being decided why not through them in my inexpensive stock Squier Affinity because why not. Thought it would be like putting lipstick on a pig, spruce the ole sow up a bit, nothing… read more crazy but my lord I had to start referring to said pig as Mr. Sir Pig and he started wearing 3 piece suits and Rolex"s! Sure it"s still a pig, thin body and not my favorite neck but the tones these pickups have it are just stupendous. My only complaint would be the cost but if they"re delivering on all fronts how can I really be upset they"re a bit pricier than some other pickups but I"ll take the Mr. Sir Pig of tone.
