Beautiful neck
I received my neck yesterday and went over it. At the time that I am typing this, I haven't installed it yet. Here is my assessment of the neck so far in case anyone has any questions before buying. First, it comes with a disclaimer that says this neck is for a FENDER or SQUIRE by FENDER guitar. In case you are wondering if it will fit your Squire it should. The nut has PILOT slots… read more only. Final filing, fit and finish is required (after it is installed). The frets came PERFECTLY leveled, not a single rock anywhere with my fret rocker. The frets are also nicely polished, however, the fret ends needed to be rounded off and polished over which I did to mine last night. They weren't horrible, but the corners of the end filing were a little sharp. They feel smooth as silk now. But a huge thumbs up on the fret leveling that was done. It's nice to buy a replacement neck that doesn't need that done. The fretboard was very dry but very clean. I gave it a lemon oil rubdown which gives the pau ferro a darker richer look. Now I'm just waiting for my new tuners that will be here today.
Awesome replacement neck
I just replaced the neck of my Player Strat with one of these roasted maple/Pau Ferro ones, and it's really nice. I'd been using the guitar as a tester of sorts for various parts, and I'd had a variety of Warmoth necks on the guitar before I decided to go back to basics and just get a Fender neck again. It took some setup, but nothing you wouldn't expect. It plays and feels like… read more a true Fender again. My luthier rolled the edges a bit and sanded the board to make it feel like ebony. Plays/feels/sounds every bit as good as my American Pro 2 Strat. Highly recommended.
