Great Service, Great Amp
Recently my house burned down and I lost a lot of my instruments, multiple guitars (including the first guitar I ever owned), mandolin, amps, etc. When I reached out to Ben he was quick to listen and slow to speak. His customer service was above and beyond that of hundreds of other phone calls I had made. After we chatted he help me acquire this amp and a guitar. I am thankful to… read more know that there are still men like Ben in the world, full of character and grace. Ben even thought about strings and a guitar strap, items I had lost in the fire that I had overlooked. Bottom line this guitar is beautiful and sounds amazing. If you need a sales rep, contact to Ben Porter. You will not be sorry you did.
Wow what an amp!
I'm shocked more people don't rave about these things. I love the warm sounds the Orange has a tendency to make and I love tube amps like this one where it's almost like the tone just has a "glow" to it. I compared it to the Vox AC10 and AC15 because I wanted to buy a tube amp for bedroom practice. I already have a Fender Hot Rod DeVille 2x12 60w tube amp that I barely use due to… read more it being too loud. I never get the joy out of being able to turn the gain the whole way up like I have with my Orange Rocker. Sweetwater and Chris made the purchase so easy for me as they worked with me. They made my experience amazing and Chris' exceptional customer service is absolutely what made me less hesitant and emboldened me to make the purchase! I wish I could get this level of customer service with everything in life! I compared this amp like I said to low wattage Vox's, low wattage Fenders and even a few low wattage Marshalls. It seemed to me more like a higher quality Vox from the sound. Personally, I just don't understand the hype surrounding Fender amps. They can have a great "clean slate" as people say, but they lack something the Orange Rocker 15 does not. The Orange can sound amazing tonally on literally every setting and of course it has power scaling and built in effects loop which eliminates so much "tone suck." It's a simple amp and I love it for that. I really enjoy when I play at night and can see the tubes glowing inside it. Thanks again Chris and Sweetwater, you guys rock! Unless something extraordinary bad happens I think I'll be keeping this amp for life. Added a photo of it in my bedroom next to my 50w solid state modeling Vox amp so players can get an idea of the size.
Knock, Knock. Who's There? Orange. Orange who? Orange you gonna get this amp?
I play classic rock and 80s metal and find this amp to be great in my office for jamming and recording. Loud enough to play small clubs and quiet enough to play at night when the kids are sleeping. This amp has minimal hiss and hum and the effects loop is silent even with pedals that are traditionally noisy. The clean channel has only volume which is perfect for my pedals and… read more the effects loop works perfectly with them. The dirty channel is versatile and can go from minimal crunch to overdrive to almost Mastadon style distortion. The sound is great to my ear although not what I would call the "classic Orange" sound from the seventies. This amp is well built and light weight. The only minor negative is the placement of the effects loop jacks and headroom switch which are awkwardly placed on the back and under a recess that is very hard to see and access. Setting this up on a dark stage would be difficult.
Orange Rocker15 combo amp
This thing has a beautiful natural Channel that even sounds perfectly clean and clear through my Gibson Les Paul classics ceramic magnet 496r and 500t pups and a dirty Channel holy shnikies, hold onto your pants this thing it's called a rocker 15 for a reason. Also Jack hacker is the man with the master plan without him I wouldn't still be shopping at Sweetwater I don't think. He… read more is so informative and patient and actually has helped me make so many awesome decisions. So thank you Josh Rock on, and Sweetwater you are the bomb to. Gratitude
This little monster rocks!
It's a very portable 1x10 combo, weights 31lbs, has 2 channels and switchable 15/7/1w all tube. It is exactly as they advertise it. It can do just about any genre you like, from jazz to modern metal. The clean channel just has a volume knob and that's perfect for me. The dirty channel rips as good as any other Orange amp I've owned. Don't let the 10" speaker fool you. It sounds huge!… read more Big, thick, and full sounding.
