Fantastic Strings with great tone that make playing easier and can improve your technique.

These strings sing with tone and make my ESP play like a hot knife through butter. I like low action and fast fretting without hard work and these fit the bill perfectly. They stay in tune, are easy to bend and I've never broken one in my two years of using Rev. Willy's. Using these Rev Willy's have improved my technique as they force me to play with a light touch. Although I've read more played for 30 years I've always been guilty of pressing too hard when i fret strings and now I glide with ease around the fretboard with a beautiful light touch, it seriously made me a batter player by forcing me to fret lightly. Be warned if you have a heavy hand you can bend notes and chords out of tune by pressing too hard. I've been using these for a few years now and am a hardcore fan. I'm stringing my new Schecter with Floyd Rose with these as well, I've read these work just fine with the FR system. Seriously I consider these super light strings an upgrade to any guitar. Of course a good setup is required as with any guitar and strings. Why work so hard when you can get seriously good sound with so little effort? I suspect many years ago heavier strings gave us better tone due to the nature of electronics and pickups. With the advancement in both I feel lighter strings can give us great tone with modern equipment. Of course that's anecdotal on my part - all i know is I'm a convert and am not going back to blistered fingers and tired hands.

Great string but...

Getting older sucks! I know you've heard that before but it explains why I bought these strings. After over 50 years of playing 10 gauge strings I decided to give my arthritic hands a break and picked up two sets of these 08-40 strings. I tried them on my Paul and, even after raising my bridge a bit and adjusting the intonation, I felt that these strings were just too "flabby". read more I then put a set on my telecaster and, because of the longer scale,it sang. I guess I'll step up to 9's for my Paul's but the tele is definitely getting these 8's from now on.

Found these by accident really.. Tried a few brands in this gauge range and these are the only ones that stay in tune. One good stretch at install and one after a few bends and WOW.. Plus they have GREAT tone! This is on an PRS SE24 tuned flat/D# too! Just ordered 3 more packs and a couple sets of the 9-42"s to try as well. Sold on these now!!

I let the Rev. convince me....

These are one of the few products that I will endorse every time. In a music scene that is saturated with D'Addario string users at every turn and I never found them comfortable or sounding like I wanted. I kept looking until I saw an interview that Billy Gibbons did and he mentioned these strings. It took me a while to find them, all of my local music stores never heard of them. read more They sold Dunlop strings but not the Rev Willy's. I found them on Sweetwater a few years ago, got them just before a gig and they played like butter all night long right out of the package. I have not looked back since. If Dunlop ever asks me to endorse their strings? I'd happily endorse Rev Willy's strings. I highly recommend these!

Why work so hard?

OK all you tone freaks... think you need to play heavy guage strings to get a good tone? WRONG! Throw these on yer favorite guitar... intonate as needed, plug in and prepare to be AMAZED. Thats right... amazed.String bending = easier. Vibrato = easier. Easier is better for your hands. Less strain and fatigue, and like BFG says... these strings don't break! Crazy? Yes. True? ABSOLUTELY.
