I'll just relate a true story. 31 years ago I had already been playing professionally for some time. I had a 62 Stratocaster at the time and loved it, although I had always wished I could get some heavier tones out of it in addition to the great sound it had in its stock form. I was having a conversation with one of the busiest studio guitarists in Atlanta and asked him about this.… read more He advised me to get one of the new reissue Strats made in Corona and put a set of EMG-SAs in it. That was his go-to guitar at the time. He explained how this would get rid of all the hum and add a palette of usable tones with the SPC control. So I decided to do just that. That guitar has been all around the U.S. with me since then, has been used for theatrical productions, recordings, outdoor concerts and countless sweaty club gigs. It's never failed me. I have lots of guitars now, but keep coming back to this one from time to time. It never disappoints. It has the same EMG-SA set I installed in 1987.

I just installed the EMG SA Set, these sweet sound, I love them. you can get any tone at any time! David Gilmour, Jimi Hendrix, SRV, Clapton, John Mayer, ect ... These are that man! Look no further for your pickups. My stratocaster "America has never sounded better.
