Terrible Oxidation

I've recently bought a new Gibson Songwriter and decided to stay with the Gibson strings as recommended, I've never had an issue with oxidation of strings in other brands on any of my guitars to speak of. However, I'm on the third set of these strings and the oxidation is excessive. After playing my fingers and pick is almost completely black.
