Good upgrade for PRS SE

Wasn't happy with PRS 245 SE tones at gigs. Installed these, good quality, looks great, improved tones. Still not sure how much I love this guitar, it's just a tool to stand in for my Goldtop LP, but its better sustain and smoother breakup with gain than it was with original PRS pups. However they are pricey.

Replaced the original set of 1990 Les Paul Studio pickups with these. Easy to replace! Took me less than an hour. The new sound is awesome and clear. No more noise between songs.

Others have said a lot about how great these are, and I totally agree, but I'll just that they are also great for coil splitting. I put them in a PRS SE Santana, with a coil splitter switch and a phase reversal switch. The pickups sound incredible as single coils, too. I always liked the playability of the SE---feels nicer than a $ guitar--but it had a really thin sound. These pickups… read more have fixed that completely, and I highly recommend them. Couldn't be happier with the result.

I build guitars and play out constantly, & I have put in almost every pickup made, so I have experience in sounds. My discovery is Alnico4 is between 2&5. Obviously but what it does not mention many places is they are the most even and consistent sounding pickups I've ever played. Better than elf active, Gibson a2s are mushy but lack attack where a5s are very attack oriented and… read more less forgiving from no mushy ness. Lol These pickups are a perfect blend of mushy and attack. And as I said every string rings perfect no dead frequency. I will put Sat Specials in all my guitars for myself from now on. I am even switching my jazz set and pearly gates to these pickups.
