I bought one of these on december and I am unhappy with the fact the pickups are not active like the blackjack
I like the guitar, overall unhappy with the tone. I fell like I wasted my money on this guitar. My schecter revenger sounds way better with the active pickups.
For the features and value, one of the best 7 strings I've played
The multiscale neck, luminlays, pickups, setup, and finish on this guitar are top tier. I was amazed how this thing was immediately playable out of the box and the setup from factory was basically perfect. Some of the other Schecter options in this price range are missing some of these features, but come with EMGs or Fishman Fluence pickups, so I worried I would be missing the tones… read more of those awesome pickups, however, not sure what kind of magic they're winding at that factory (my previous experience with Schecter stock pickups has not been great), these pickups sound great. No weird feedback, perfectly clear and sound excellent paired with any of the pedals and amp configurations I have here. The most incredible thing though I noticed, was how incredibly light and thin the guitar is, the pictures really don't do that part justice, this guitar is incredibly light for a 7 string.
Just amazing!
I have owned several 7 string guitars over the years and not one of them has felt this comfortable to play. Compared to the PRS SVN, the Matt Heafy les paul, and the sterling 7 strings this one simply blows them out of the water. The guitar arrived perfectly setup and ready to go! I figured the multi scale would take a while to adjust to. I was dead wrong. I couldn't really tell… read more much difference. I do notice less fatigue while playing. Overall the build quality is the best I have owned. It is easily on par with ESP E-II and in my opinion, even the fender elite series. The pickups are the biggest surprise. I have always been partial to duncans and the schecter usa sonic seducers do not dissappoint. If you want a 7 string for metal, buy this. Don't let the made in korea stamp steer you away from this amazing guitar. If i had one complaint it would be the 9-62 set of strings schecter put on this. The 27in scale doesnt require such a beefy string lol. If you need new gear, Chris Sanders is the man! I've been ordering with him for a couple of years and he never lets me down.
