Pro Options and Feel at a Great Price
I've been playing 7 strings for a long time and I've owned the original Schecter Jeff Loomis signature. What I can tell you about this superior instrument is the neck is super thin and allows for crazy playability. I've never played a neck that felt so fast and thin. I've never tried an Ibanez, but maybe it's similar to their necks? Anyway, it's also light and balanced. The Fluence… read more pickups sound amazing, like if EMGs were fuller sounding with a passive growl. The 2nd passive voice turns up the throaty growl. The guitar has massive sustain and tuning stability with the locking tuners, stainless steel frets, ebony fretboard, neck-through construction. You wont find all these amenities on higher priced guitars. This is a guitar for on stage and studio. If this is in your budget, you can't go wrong. I would say you're paying for the brand name or finish if you want to spend more money elsewhere. At that point, you might as well get a custom guitar. Don't sleep on this guitar. I'll admit, the finish isn't "metal" but I think it's cool. It has old school sunset/tobacco burst vibes.
Easy transition to a 7 string!
If you are unsure of trying a 7 string guitar, worry no more. I mostly play ibanez and Shecter guitars. A thin fast neck is what I'm used to and the 7 string Schecter was close to the 6 string width. Once you get used to the low B string not being the E, life is good! Palm muting is about the same and the Fishman Fluence pups are awesome if you havent tried them yet. Good luck!
Very solid guitar!
Just got mine in yesterday and so far so good. Great action and intonation right out of the box. The fishman fluences sound amazing! Nice assortment of tonal options. The guitar feels rock solid! I love that the guitar has binding over the whole thing.
Sweet guitar!
This Schecter is awesome! Everything I was looking for and more. Plus Sweetwater's customer service is on another level just like this guitar! They are so attentive and accommodating with their setups, My next guitar purchase is going to be with these great people at sweetwater!
