Heavenly sizzle
The standard as far as I'm concerned, amazing pickup
IT’S HEAVEN!!!
Replaced the neck pick up on my 2016 Squir CV Tele. Is not a super hot pickup but has it's fair amount of growl. It definitely needs 500k pots. God bless!
Nice upgrade
I replaced the stock neck pickup in my Epiphone Les Paul with this. The original was a bit dull and lifeless. The output of the pearly gates is a bit hotter, and it has a slightly more mid-forward sound, plus more top end sizzle from around 4kHz and up. These pickups also seem to have improved dynamics. And that's a good thing! The SD jazz neck is a nice p/u and the Seth Lover neck is,… read more to me, even better, but the Pearly Gates neck is better still and combines what I like about those other Duncan pickups into one classic-tone package. My only minor complaint (the reason I didn't give it five stars): the split sound is, well...meh. But then again, I've never heard a split humbucker that really sounded satisfying and comparable to a real single coil.
