I put this SD Pearly in the neck position of my Ibanez AS53 and paired it with the Duncan Saturday night special in the bridge. I know... Weird combo, but it really works!! There's something about the sound of the Alnico2 magnet in the pearly and the Alnico4 in the SNS together. I mostly play in the neck and middle position on my three-way, rarely using only the bridge pup. I split… read more the coils on both, and my new favorite tone is having the pearly in humbucker and the SNS split in the middle position. The SNS gives a jangly boost, due to it being slightly hotter, to my perfect little pearly! Now, I can't put this cheap little semi hollow down!!!

I used this pickup to replace the stock neck pup in my PRS Custom 24 SE Laurel Burl. I used a Gibson Burstbucker 3 in the bridge position and love the tones i can get out of the new pups. The Pearly Gates has a nice rich warm tone, exactly what i wanted in a neck pickup. The BB3 has a lot of bite with some gain in the bridge position. While i was in there i got rid of the stock… read more Alpha pots and replaced them with a CTS 500k pot and CTS 500k pot/DPDT switch to keep the coil split option. Replaced the stock switch with a CRL 3 way blade switch and used a .022 Orange Drop capacitor. Wired it all up some 22AWG cloth pushback wire and it sounds amazing. Love PRS, but don't care for the stock pups and the switches are garbage. Really happy with it now. Sweetwater shipped right away and the product arrived well packaged. Thanks!

I'm the lead guitar player in a southern rock band been playing in bars for the last 30 years and a couple years ago I switched out my pickups from my Les Paul to the Pearly Gates and man did it come alive
