You have to be meticulous
Take your time. Follow the instructions. If your pickups have the little flimsy leads it'll be like pushing a wet noodle into the solderless station, but you can easily cut a length of decent wire and use it like a jumper. I've had this setup in my partscaster build for a long while now and today was the first time I switched out the pickups and it was a breeze. The spacing… read more and pot size in this kit is designed for USA and MIM fender telescope so if you're not building on one of those be prepared to grab a set of knobs and control plate cover. Even now, that I know how to solder, I would still recommend this kit to all levels of builders, tinkerers and luthiers alike. It's easy and it works. Just be patient and use common sense.
This wiring harness is badass
Totally changed the way my Tele sounds. I am almost always on the humbucker tone now. Well done guys
Excellent tone and quality
Very happy with the performance of this mod, excellent tone. It doesn't change the telecaster sound but it really brings it to life in a very noticeable way, and the neck and bridge together in series sounds great. It's an excellent option to have available. Excellent quality from mojo tone. Good job. I put this in a deluxe nashville telecaster. I got rid of the middle pick up and… read more made it more of a standard tele with the 4 way mod. I love it. Installation is pretty easy, just take your time. I had to solder one wire on my neck pickup for the cover ground, not a big deal and you may not have to do this, it just depends on what pickup you are running. I'm using the Fender vintage noiseless that came stock in my tele. Great pickups in my opinion and now they sound so much better. I also had to modify my electronics cavity a tiny bit, I had to route a very small area to clear a wire with my dremel, again no big deal and its under the cover so you can't see it. Thats something that you may not have to do as well, just depends on the cavity in your guitar. I wish Mojo Tone would have included a piece of wire for the neck pick up cover ground, I didn't have any 22 awg laying around so I had to buy some. Anyway, I am loving this mod it sounds amazing and now if I want to try different pickups it will be a breeze to swap them out. The solderless mechanism works great, very easy. If your looking to do the 4 way mod I highly recommend this harness.
Mojo tone is sweet
I placed this wiring harness in a Tele kit. I replaced the neck pup with a dual coil humbucker. The solderless connections made installation super easy. The extra switch selections give the bridge/neck tones are reall sweet! Get it. Sweet. Daunte, the sales professional is also super helpful and knowledgeable. Pull another harness off the shelf for me. I'm building another… read more as we speak!
Good, but not quite solderless for me
This product worked perfectly for me in the end, but installing was not quite so easy as I had thought. I got it all wired up only to find that the neck pickup produced no sound. I got everything apart again, and saw one wire from the switch to the volume pot had come loose. I am pretty sure it pulled loose as I was putting the control plate into the guitar. So I ended up having… read more to solder that connection back into place. Other than that issue, this worked great. The 4th position sounds great. It's nice to have a little extra oomph on tap when you need it :)
