Not sure how the heck this thing works, I don't even want to know. It's some Harry Potter shenanigans. I've had it for three weeks, I can't stop playing with it now, I'm a convert for life. If you go to your buddy's house to play a nice acoustic jam sesh, you will be the talk of the town. Seriously, it's an amazing piece of musical machinery.

Tonewood as stand alone unit

Full disclosure, I have a relationship with Tonewood as one of their artists and somebody who has written about the product. That said, the technology is amazing and works exactly as stated when connected to the guitar as an acoustic sound modifier. What isn't talked about enough is that the unit also makes a great stand-alone effects pedal, used in a more traditional way. It provide read more ambiance and gives your guitar an exceptionally open and full sound. There are several effect settings that can be turned on 100% of the time to augment your pickup system. Easy to travel with, bulletproof.

Let's start with, this apparatus is phenomenal, I'm not a good enough guitar player to utilize the many facets that this amp provides, especially once you add the MIDI app , that alone takes this amp to another level, I am enjoying fiddling with this amp on a daily basis, there is so much to learn , but so far the Tremdelay has been my favorite effect you tinker with, if you want read more to add another dimension to your acoustic guitar without changing the integrity of an expensive guitar this amp is really nice, the ability to upgrade the firmware is nice too.

Tone Wood amp review

I bought the Tone Wood amp for use with a Journey carbon fiber Overhead travel guitar. I expected that the guitar would need some amplification to sound loud enough. The Tone Wood amp was specifically reviewed and recommended for exactly this use in a Youtube video. The Tone Wood amp is an elegant but complex piece of engineering, and it does give some increased volume and effects. read more The difficulty I had with it was first getting in the exact place on the guitar. This is unique to this guitar, since it has some unusual contours sculpted into it. Once mounted, understanding the multiple uses for the 3 knobs, and how to eliminate feedback took a lot of experimentation and advice from Tone Wood techs. Ultimately they helped a lot. In fact without the tech help I would still be confused abut how this device works. I am still going to try and improve the mounting and readjust the settings for feedback and the multiple effects. I think that if I stick with it, I will be able to achieve my desired result with the guitar's sound. It won't come near my Martin, but the sound is unique and improved by using the Tone Wood amp.

A sweet addition
