Best compressor

It adds something to the sound and it's addictive. It doesn't color it, I don't know how to describe it but saying that it uplift your sound. Compression go be very hard to subtitle, I love that about it. Had mine for 3 years now and it's always on. Go for it!

Excellent littl box

Excellent pedal based on the classic Ross Compressor, slightly noisy on the medium and high settings, but that's just normal with any compressor. The build quality of Xotic stuff is excellent and the sound was good too, but sold it on and going to buy the Keeley Compressor next to give that a try as it seems to be popular. I've got an Xotic EP booster too and it's on all the read more time. I don't normally get on with compressors so my tone quest continues.

Great Compressor

I am used to recording software compressors with a ton of options. For a bass player, if the house doesn't have something on the board to compress to their liking, then I simply dial in a tad of compression, adjust per their recommendation and set the volume. Thing is transparent, easy to use and does its job perfectly. Hey, you can spend lots of money on this stuff and get the read more same results this little guy puts out. To each his own. I'd rather buy strings or pickups. Compressor is a necessary tool sometimes. But not worth breaking the bank. This little fella is tremendous. Just buy it and get on with more important things....

The key to making amp sims sound and feel RIGHT

I NEVER leave reviews because I'm admittedly pretty lazy about stuff, but I needed to post this in hopes that it'll help. THIS PEDAL IS THE KEY TO GETTING YOUR AMP SIM FEELING AND SOUNDING GOOD. This is something that I've struggled with for years using Amplitube - I like some of the sounds but something just never felt right. I play a Charvel Pro Mod DK24 HSS with all Seymour read more Duncan JBs (Humbucker bridge and single coil sized humbucking models in the middle and neck) I've also got a David Gilmour volume mod and the treble knob has been changed to a bass roll-off. I plugged this into my Focusrite 2i and dialed it in with Amplitube 4's AC30 sim, and it changed EVERYTHING. Finally, the response feels good going into a computer rig. Rolling off the volume and low-cut as needed feels really controlled yet subtle. Between the blend, volume, toggle and dip switches under the hood, pick control, drive and sustain is out as customizable as it gets. You can get that "spongey" and "sag" to feel just right, no matter the style. It is SUBTLE. I've not used it much yet with my actual amp rigs, but I'm pretty excited. I've always preferred solid state amps for reliability and low maintenance, and I have two Quilter 150s with Avatar 1x12s and V30s in each. They sound pretty good, but I have a feeling this thing is going to be the "always on" golden gate in front of my Box of Rock and SansAmp GT2 and make it feel more like tube amp. I don't think I've ever been happier with a purchase. The reviews here are correct.

Love it!

I've used a Dynacomp for years but when the 3rd one broke down I decided to go in a different direction. I read reviews on the SP and I absolutely love it. Great sustain, no noise and so far it hasn't broke!!!
