Great bass With Nice Features But......
I am a professional bassist x30 years. I currently own several Spector Euros and love the brand. When I saw these released I picked one up and it's a killer instrument with a few QC issues. Positive: Stunning finish Mine weighed in at 7 lbs and 2 oz Roasted neck feels and plays incredible 1.57" neck width at the nut makes it a fast player Negative: Bridge saddle set screws… read more worked loose almost immediately from playing. Had to use Loctite to remedy. Switchcraft Jack failed after about 6 hours of total playing time Aguilar pickups are a little pedestrian sounding
A tone BEAST
As a Fender guy, I wanted something different. I got it! The build quality is phenomenal and the factory set up was almost perfect for me. Plays effortlessly and has a tone that cuts through the mix. Every note is crystal clear. The neck is chunky, but very comfortable. A true joy to play!
Lovely
I truly enjoy playing this bass. The neck and was a little thicker than I had anticipated, at least more so than my 15 year old Ibanez BTB. Still, the neck is silky and the more I play, the less of an issue it becomes. It also doesn't sit too naturally on my lap for comfortable playing. Otherwise, this is a gorgeous-looking instrument that is a delight to play. The pickups are bright… read more and punchy, but can be toned down to a more smooth jazz sound if desired.
Very unique tone
I bought a blue one last July. It is probably the best playing bass I have ever had. The action seemed a little high at first, but it plays so clean. I don't know who set it up, but thank you! I think the "P" pickup might be a little closer to the bridge because of the bolt on neck and if you like bridge pickup tone this seems to really add to it. The fatness of the "P" might suffer… read more from it. The roasted maple neck is unique too. I love this neck. I would buy it all over again. Thank you, Evan M. and thank you, Sweetwater.
