OMG, what an excellent first bass!

This is the first time I've been pushed to write a review on a new instrument. I spoke to Eric one weekend who asked me what I was looking for in a bass and then walked me through several models to consider. I learned so much from him that I was able to make a great decision in choosing this bass. Both pickups sound amazing. The craftsmanship seems great! I've heard on other platforms read more that the tuning machines were just average. Well I'm very impressed with how well the tuning holds. I had SW put on new strings and perform a full setup. WOW! I have 7 instruments and have never had one feel this perfect for me. Special thanks to Eric and my excellent sales engineer Kenny Stratton. He has been taking care of all my gear needs for about 3 years. All I have to do is explain what I'm trying to do musically and he has always made sure I make the best possible purchases for my needs. Guitar is my main instrument. I wanted a nice bass to create bass parts for my original songs. This instrument has inspired me to learn bass at a high level that I'm moving towards with guitar.

Solid Bass

Squier is stepping up their game for sure. This thing is solid. Plays great right out of the box, pickups are fantastic and have ton of range. If you were blind folded you'd be hard pressed to think was a Squier bass. Only issue I ran into was a little buzz on 13th fret with G string, nothing a little file and level can't sort out. Definitely worth every penny and then some.

I love this Bass

Honestly, i got it becuase of good reviews everywhere. My previous bass was an Elite Fender Jazz Bass which i didn't like at all-it had problems with grounding and i didn't like its sound. Now, after buying this CV70's i'm really happy with it, good sound, good feel, and quarter the price.

LOVING THIS BASS!!!

Purchase this bass 2 weeks ago and I am enjoying it. Not only does this bass looking amazing but it sounds great. The process to buy this bass was so awesome and easy thanks to Nathan and Ty. Sweetwater is the best place to buy!

What more could you ask?

I'm a drummer, not a bassist, so I just wanted an inexpensive bass that I could use to record rudimentary bass lines and become more familiar with the fret board. There are cheaper beginner basses available, but a buddy recommended going this route. I'm glad I did. At my level, I can't really speak to the quality of the action or the hardware, though it seems pretty good. It stays read more in tune despite my gorilla playing. What I can say is that this bass sounds amazing. I plugged directly into my digital mixer/interface and I'm recording tracks in my DAW. I expected I might need to experiment with virtual amps or effects, but I was mistaken! All I've needed are the pickup adjustments on the bass itself. I have no EQ needed, other than some high pass to make room for the kick drum in the mix. A slight amount of compression and minor gating in the DAW completes the processing. The finish is excellent on the instrument and I really can't imagine what more you could ask out of a starter or even an intermediate bass. About the only thing I would change are the strings, which come stock with the round-wound variety. They sound great, but I think flat wound are going to work better for me.

Amazing Bass!!

This is a very good instrument for the money. Sweetwater and Nick Graham are the best. Would highly recommend this bass to beginners and professionals alike. Great classic tone and good fit and finish. Very comfortable neck. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Love it. Flats made it a total winner. Fast neck got mine on the DEMO list 8.2 lbs. Can't seem to find the imperfections, really. Got pure vintage 74 pups I'll update you afterwards. 2nd Classic Vibe and both worth more than I paid for em already. Randy Poteet never let's me down. My next one gets a setup.

This was my first bass after playing guitar for many years. I hesitated to buy only because of the Squier name, and my outdated opinions of the brand. I am very pleased with this bass. It looks even better in person and the fit and finish are fantastic. It feels very solid and sounds great. I'm really glad I bought this bass and I would highly recommend it. I also wouldn't hesitate read more to buy another Squier based on this experience.

This is an incredible bass. I would put it up next to a Fender and its half of the price. It also has that 70s tone that is just so funky. Ita also versitile. You can play any gemre without even having to turn a knob. It just sounds and plays so good.

Thank you so much Tomir and Sweetwater

My bass and amp came with in 2 days with free shipping. Polite and respectful people work at Sweetwater. The bass is gorgeous. So is the amp, if anyone wants to get an affordable , but incredible bass amp. It's the Fender rumble 15. Plays very well. And I'm very happy. Merry Christmas to me!

Very satisfying experience!

Having been an experienced bass player since the 80s. (Yes I'm old). I have always played fender products. I did start off with an Ibanez and moved on to a precision but after that was stolen, I bought me a new Fender Areodyne Jazz bass which i love and pkay to this day. A couple of years ago I bought me a Squier Jaguar Bass just to mess around with and I ended up loving it! The read more punchiness and the playability really makes it fun! But I debated for a long time to get this bass. I kept checking reviews, watching YouTube vids, just to make sure i was getting something worthy to be played. Squier has always had the "beginner" stigma attached to it so I was a little wary but all that careful research was a waste of time. Squier is an awesome, very usable brand! I was very impressed with the bass! I decided to order from Sweetwater because I heard reviews were the best regarding shipping and it was no lie. If you're familiar with the box that most guitars come in, imagine that but inside a bigger box to protect it! I'm serious, this thing was as big as a door and about 8 inches deep. After inspection, I was thoroughly satisfied with the finish and it came very setup and ready to play out of the box! It was even in tune. I did a very minimal set up and what's nice is they provide the tools for that. Sweetwater contacted me to make sure i was happy with product and that they were there to offer any assistance i may need. Who does that? Hey, stop debating and get your bass. You won't be disappointed.

Wow!

Was going to save up for a fender Jazz Bass not sure what one but heard about this Squier jazz cv70. And the reviews were great. So I gave it a try and glad I did this thing is a beast and it is still stock. Want to try And put in Seymour Duncan qp's. But the tones are awesome now so we will see!

Intermediate player, Love this bass!!

Originally a drummer but have played bass and guitar as well. Where I live currently I can not set up my drum kit and I have really wanted to play some music. I have always loved playing bass but never thoroughly learned. I have an Ibanez 5 string but have always wanted a jazz bass. I'm glad I went with this. It plays so well and feels great at a fraction of the fender american read more version. I highly recommend even if you are a very experienced player on a tight budget.

Awesome Bass

I recently purchased this bass, and I must say I am blown away with the quality of this product. I used to have a Squier J bass back about 15 years ago and the quality and playability was no where near what I am experiencing with this new purchase. The setup was spot on and did not require any further adjustment. The sound and playability amazingly close to the more expensive J read more basses from the fender offerings.
