I've been a jackson user for a couple years and wanted to try something new... this was the first thing that came to me and OMG I LOVE IT!! Has great tonal flexibility with the 2 band EQ and master tone. Sounds great with Overdrive (personally using a darkglass pedal). Surprisingly light for a jazz bass. Nice flat action with NO fret buzz after setting it up.

My reason for this purchase was to find a decent, full-scale bass to jam out with my drumming teenager. I've played guitar and bass on and off and have always gone with used instruments. My requirements were simple - decent specs for jamming everything from jazz to metal, a good price-point, and it had to be aesthetically pleasing to me. After weeks of testing, searching, etc. I… read more came across this low bottom beauty. It hit everything that I wanted. The matte black is fantastic in person, and I love the classic, yet slightly aggressive look. Sound was excellent, and so far the blues and jazz licks I have tossed at it sound stellar, even running through some old-school Metallica it holds it's own. For the price, Squire gives you one hell of a decent bass.

I was looking to up grade from the bass I was using Bob my rep from sweetwater suggested this as a options he was dead on great bass please don't the squire name scare you away very well made bass neck is fantastic I don't think you could get a better bass in this range sounds great plays even better thanks again to Bob and all at sweetwater
