I have been wanting a baritone for a long time. Looked at other more expensive but they were out of stock. What a blessing. Found this awesome guitar and thought for the price what have I got to lose. It is awesome. Plays well, looks good and sounds great. Had a couple of small issues I fixed myself. A great value though, and it has opened up a new segment of playing for me. Add read more this to your arsenal now.

tone fit and finish setup needs a bit of work, action high, but ok man what I always wanted in a guitar

Only a couple factory setup issues

out of the box, noticed the intonation was spot on, though the action was a little high (only half a turn on each saddle screw got it feeling better). bridge pickup was a little too high as well, and it was pushing so much output my FlyRig was clipping from even gentle touches. might've just been mine in particular, i don't buy squier expecting the highest standards of quality control! read more buying anything fender/squier, i always expect i'll need to buy some heavier strings... not this time! i tend to string baritones with 13-62, this one came with 14-68 (surprisingly heavy by fender standards). i'll have to mess with string gauges a little bit to comment further than "this comes with the strings to glue up between the bass and lead" the pickups are very nicely focused: i have a modern-player tele retrofit with a P90, and an epiphone gold top with a pair of P90s to compare against... my cabronita sounds slightly hotter than the epiphone (another surprise, for me) and slightly brighter than my modern-player. with the right setup and approach, they very much layer on top of a 5-string bass to create quite a driving rhythm section. in the end, while it's very capable of incredible heaviness, don't expect it to happen out of the box. out of the box, you can just expect some EXTREMELY nice deep-throated tones with the wide chime of P90s. anybody who's bought a baritone before already knows, but for those who're just picking up your first one: it's a very different tone than just down-tuning standard scale! do a run up the E-string on a standard guitar, then the same run up the E-string of a baritone and you'll notice it right away. in the end end end, i love this guitar. within an hour of pulling it out of the box, i'd gotten the factory setup fixed and was laying down tracks and cursing my 5-string bass for being horribly out of tune.
