The wood grain of the Pau Ferro is very rough to the touch. Multiple coats of fretboard conditioner didnt help much. Then, I decided to take 3000 grit sandpaper and lightly sand it, and it came out very nice. Smooth and you could feel how well the conditioner took. Id venture to say even smoother feeling than a Rosewood fretboard. AND.. it darkened up a little bit with the conditioner.… read more Be careful though, its not the most robust of woods. When I popped the nut out (dont care for the synthetic bone) it started to take a small piece of the fretboard with it. Luckily I go real slow so caught it in time and was able to adhere it back in place without any adverse effects.

Certainly the Pau Ferro fingerboard feels good on the hands and looks good. Unfortunately my replacement neck came with intonation issues in upper frets.
Neck replaced on tele.

Since I put the pau ferro telecaster replacement neck my guitar has such clarity and warmth and finally overall sound improvement

The fret work and finish are as good as the neck on my American Special Strat. Perfect fit in the Cabronita Tele that I dropped it into. Pau Ferro feels great.
