I had a reissue Gibson Les Paul 1954 black beauty years ago and it had a staple p90 in the neck. I'm not really a neck pickup kind of guy, so I'd wanted to check out the bridge version of the pickup. I'd seen some videos online, but wasn't too impressed. I'd wanted to see how it would sound a bit overdriven. I was going to first install this in a 2016 Gibson Les Paul Studio, but… read more the way the cavity was set up, I couldn't do so. I would not be able to mount the 2 diagonal bolts to the guitar at all. I did have a back-up plan which was to install it in another P90-style guitar which ended up being great. The pickup has a lot of clarity and high output. Sounds great overdriven. It doesn't break up with just enough overdrive from the amp. Kinda reminds me of a telecaster bridge pickup/rickenbacker pickup. That's just my take. For the price, it's a little up there, but a lot is involved in making this pickup as with others I'm sure. It was double the price of any antiquity pickup. I was hoping for a bag or sticker. Whatevs! I'm diggin' the twang I get out of the pickup!
