I had a lot of parts around, enough to build a complete tele save the bridge pickup. This was an excellent choice to finish out my project! If you're looking for classic tele country tone, this is it.

I have the STL-1 in one guitar and love it. This is the same tone, but with a hint more assertiveness. Maybe we could call it more attitude. Very vintage leaving my amp and pedals to modify the sound.

It's twangy but also it's a powerful pick-up. If you bring the volume down it still holds its body.

This pickup is just what I was hearing in my research. I researched the for about a mouth before I heard what I was really looking for. It is just one of those personal preference things that I was trying to find. I just wanted to say I talked to Mickey Cushing for about 15 min. If you ever wanted to be a honky tonk king, get this pickup. This thing should have come with a bottle of whiskey, a pair of boots, and some brass balls. It's exactly what I was looking for.
