Sounds amazing!
I transformed my entry level Gretsch Streamliner (G2420T) and turned it into a killer axe! I used a 920D Custom wiring harness (GR-EL), and the guitar sounds so good. I actually acquired a Power'tron Plus bridge pickup first, and after communicating with TV Jones, they said the Super'tron would pair nicely with it because of it's higher inductance. Super'Tron
Love this. Paired it with a TV Classic + Bridge. This is a combo that I had seen on message boards and on TV's youtube channel under "quirky combinations". That set up seemed like it would provide the most versatility for my Gretsch 5122 (compared to TV classics) as I'm not trying to emulate Chet Atkins lol. I've never played so much on a neck pickup before. It is warm and mellow… read more with a light touch or the volume rolled back without being muddy at all - it still sounds defined clear. And then when you push it it has a good amount of bite to it - surprisingly so. The one thing that I've seen people comment on is that its hotter than their Classic or Classic + bridge. I found that it balanced out nicely simply by lowering the pickup below what the recommended height is that comes in the packaging. Although for my best middle position tone I have the Super'Tron's volume rolled back to 7-8/10
