Best front pickup
With FIVE WAY switch, pickup output is fairly important, unless you want constantly crank on the volume knob. I used to use a little 59 at the bridge on my custom shop stratIt was good. I recently acquired a roadhouse strat from sweetwater with gen 4 noiseless pickups. I changed to a seymour duncan inthe middle position to get a little more of the out of phase. This was very good… read more but it was so much stronger than the rest, I switched the bridge to a hot rails at the bridge. my strat got alot better, but the front pickup was lacking. After switching to the SVR 1n my strat sound is complete. Buying a strat is a good idea if you don't miond doing a little extra work to improve the sound!
Perfect middle pickup
Just put one of these in the middle of the "Mighty White Warmoth" to add to the 'lil 59 at the neck and the 'lil Screamin' Demon (a most appropriately named pickup) at the bridge. I believe I have finally discovered the holy grail of pickup combos for me. It's like having three completely different guitars in one.
