Takamine GD 30 CE Nat Review
Guitar Tone is perfect. But the Preamp system Pickup set near the Neck heel is not comfortable to play such Percussive Fingerstyle Songs. Sometime when slap the body near Preamp. It can be toch the volume. And the finishing is Natural. Key pegs and finishing upgrade as 51 CE may look better appearence. May be the manufacturer intentionally left the finishing and Key pegs color. The… read more preamp Location may be TAKAMINE Trademark as well. If they did that i have nothing to say.
Great Beginner Acoustic
I used to play guitar quite a few years ago, ended up quiting cause life got in the way. Now retired, I wanted a good sounding Guitar that would be a little easier to play than the old Epi, I had. Spent a bunch of time researching and even more time talking with AJ who was to become my sales engineer. AJ was able to narrow my search and based on his recommendation I bought this… read more guitar this past February. I had to live with this for awhile before writing this as I'm no means a professional. I have found this guitar to be perfect for me as an advanced beginner. The tonal quaility, fit and finish are perfect. I have found that this guitar is the perfect weight and size for me. (I'm 6"0"). I love that I can pick tjhis up and not have to worry about it always being out of tume like my old guitar. Very easy play thanks to Sweetwaters excellent Setup Techs. electronics are clean and the small EQ is and built-in tuner are nice touches that work well. LOve Sweetwater and was very lucky to get AJ as my Sales Engineer. Thanks to all of you at Sweetwater.
Really nice beginner's guitar
For the price, this is an excellent choice for anyone just starting out. As a professional player, I purchased this guitar to bang around on, letting live on the sofa in my living room whenever I felt like playing without worrying about it. However, since this is such a WELL-MADE guitar with excellent playability (especially for those of us with smaller hands), I find it one of… read more my "go to" guitars when in a pinch. The only reason I can't give this 5 stars is that the sound quality seems "dampened". Even with all the great woods this guitar is constructed with, along with high quality strings, I can't get it to open up. The electronics helps adjust a better sound, but not by much in my opinion. I'd say it's a solid 4 stars for anyone wanting a dependable, flexible first guitar.
Nice guitar but poor Takamine quality control.
Four guitars later (same Takamine GD30CE) I've got one close to perfect. Great electronics - was surprised how good it sound plugged in! Unplugged even better sound. Seems like many corners cut on that model but still good sounding guitar with nice action from the box.
Great value!
Love everything about this guitar. I use it primarily for playing at a church. It sounds great either plugged in or completely acoustic. I would definitely recommend this guitar for the value and quality.
