I LOVE THIS GUITAR !

I have worked hard, been lucky and have been blessed to be able to own tons of guitars (well over a hundred through the years). I've played professionally since I was 14 years old - I'm 65 now. Not bragging - just laying the groundwork that I know a good guitar when I play one. This guitar has a wonderful sound to it. Not as boomy and low-end as most of my other acoustics - which read more I really like ! It plays like butter. Fit and finish are of a standard more akin to a much higher priced instrument. Sounds great unplugged and plugged in. It is a beautiful guitar - pictures don't do it justice. Tuners are great - although, I gave it a quick tune when it arrived and I haven't touched them since (and that includes some mild note-stretching lead work). Hats off to whoever did the setup on this at Sweetwater (I always add the setup when I order a new guitar using my favorite strings). He/She tweaked it to my specs perfectly. Thanks, as always, to my rep Charlie Davis. Always a good experience. Everyone has their own idea of what "their" guitar is - but, I would be very surprised if you ordered one of these and didn't love it.

Amazing guitar at amazing price point.

I looked at different parlor guitars for weeks and finally chose this one. I am so happy I did. I have yet to use the electronics but the quality of this guitar build is phenomenal, the tonewoods look amazing and the real maple binding and 3pc back make this look like a much higher end guitar. As does the split saddle. The sound unplugged is much better than I was expecting. I had read more read reviews where action came high and fret ends were sharp and poking over the fretboard. Not the case with this one. Out of the box action was perfect and fret ends were smooth. I'm still going to take it to get a professional set up but I'm thinking it's not gunna need much. Maybe a slight shaving of the saddle to lower action just a hair more (I love extremely low action, for most people it was perfect right out the box). I've ordered from Sweetwater maybe a hundred times and this is the first review I've left. Only thing that NEEDS to be done imo, is to condition the fretboard and bridge, they look awfully dry. Otherwise, this guitar is incredible right out of the box. Jeff Weinstein is an incredible sales rep and I really lucked out getting him as my rep. Guitar quality and customer service both 5 stars.

If you like acoustics and were raised in the US, you`re probably familiar with the heavy weights out there, Martin, Taylor, Gibson, Guild but for years I had a tendency to look down on Takemine, thinking they were sub par. Well obviously my opinion was born out of ignorance so until you get your hands on one of these you dont realize Takemine makes giant killers. When you see artists read more like Springsteen and any number of hotshot country stars on stage playing Taks you tend to think, what am I missing here? This thing is a gem, with a bright, crisp punchy well balanced tone and beautiful action and the pictures dont lie, this guitar is drop dead gorgeous. Sure I would like to see an Ebony bridge and fretboard and maybe some better geared tuners but what you get here for your money is stunning. Initially I thought, oh no it`s made in China but Takemine must supervise production pretty well cause this thing is flawless, between that and Sweetwaters 55 point inspection, how could you possibly go wrong?

Great Guitar
