Worth The Investment

I can't recommend this guitar enough for someone serious about getting a high quality acoustic at a range that won't break the bank and is worth the investment. Who is this guitar for? In my opinion, its for anyone. For the beginner, its a high quality instrument that will come from the shop ready to pick up and play without having to fight with the it. Having a good instrument read more to learn on is vital and having a guitar that is purpose built to be played will absolutely make your learning experience a million times better. With guitars you get the most value in the mid-range (1,200 - 2,500) and this guitar is hands down the best acoustic guitar at its price point. For the intermediate player (myself) its my dream acoustic. It sings out bright but warm, has near perfect intonation, harmonics that ring out, overtones that hum sympathetically with every pluck and strum. An absolute joy to play every time I pick it up and not once have I regretted making the investment. For the professional, its a high quality instrument that's as home on the stage as it is the studio. The electronics are quality and the instrument records well. It's also not so expensive that you have to stress about leaving it out on stage or worry if it gets a bump or two. Enough to work with and not to much to be a liability. For anyone looking to start playing more seriously and hasn't picked up and played a Taylor before, you're missing out. Go sit down at your local shop and give it a strum. You'll understand why Taylor fans are so loyal and passionate about the instruments Taylor makes.

Wow, I am impressed

Just got mine today, the temp outside already matched inside so didn't have to wait to open. I hear people say it is tuned perfectly out of the box. I'll say it was. All the way up and down the neck, the intonation was the best I've ever heard. I've been playing over 50 years, mostly as a job, and I've built over 100 guitars, but this one, beats everything just in pure sound, read more balance and feel. It was simply everything I was hoping for.

Awesome Guitar!

I've known a few people who owned Taylor guitars but now having one myself gives me better understanding of the quality Taylor puts into their guitars. This is one awesome instrument!

I rarely write any reviews even though I'm always buying gear. I am writing this one for two reasons. (Quick side note, I did get this guitar Plek Pro'd before having it shipped to me, highly recommend it.)1. This guitar has the best intonation of any guitar in this price range. American > Mex makes a big difference in this price range, I bought a 214ce DLX and returned it two weeks read more later. The overall feel just wasn't the same, neither was the sound. The V-Bracing is so great for recording. The guitar stays consistently in tune and it's so easy to layer guitars without having overtone issues. Once I heard a few guitars layered and all sounding like one big beautiful sound, I knew I had made the right decision. The preamp sounds sick and this will stand on it's own quite well in live situations. I even recorded direct just to see, and was blown away by how "close" it sounds in comparison to a mic. The satin finish on the sides gives the guitar a smooth/classy feel and the front gloss gives it that polish everyone wants to see on their dream acoustic. I was so nervous about committing to a $... guitar without having played it first, but I'm so glad I made the jump. I'm so happy with it and I'm proud to own this 314ce guitar. I also got a GS Mini as part of Taylor's Promo deal and so honestly this deal couldn't have gone better for me. If you're thinking about this guitar, get it! You'll remember this review and you'll be glad you did it. 2. Andy Miller! My man Andy. What can I say? I've been working with Andy since 2011 and I realize I've never left the man a proper review. Andy is like that awesome barber you go to and tell all your problems to and somehow you walk out of there feeling fresh inside and out. Andy has spent so many hours of his valuable time guiding me and recommending me only the best gear according to my needs while somehow magically finding things that fit my budget. Andy Miller will be excited to sell me a $15 pack of strings and equally as stoked and helpful when I'm in the market for an amp or a guitar. In the case of my Taylor purchase, he so gracefully allowed me to return the 214CE DLX I wasn't in love with and worked with me tirelessly to get me the 314ce on time for a recording session along with the Taylor promo GS Mini guitar. This man loves his job and it shows in every possible way. Thanks for a great 9 years Andy. I'm looking forward to more.
