Great semi-hollow.
My only gripe is that it's missing a fret, otherwise great playing and versatile semi-hollow. The coil splits aren't particularly useful. The HG pickups are versatile. Be sure to play around with the volume and the various spots of the push/pull tone to see what your amp/pedal wants. The ergonomics seem a little better than the average Gibson. Super easy to get the action as low… read more as an Ibanez with a quick truss rod and bridge adjustment. I'm tempted to get another and rip out the pickups to install some custom humbucker shaped P90s to have something that plays nice and has a different sound from my current T3.
Found a sweet sound tomyears
I been spending money on guitarrs but none of then had what my ears want to hear a sweet sound I been playing it it"s great .
Really, really good!
I nicknamed my T3 "Six-Seventy" because it is twice as good as the Gibson 335 it replaced! While it doesn't exactly sound like a 335, it has great tone. Odd that these aren't more popular than they are...IMO they are better than just about any semi-hollow out there except for maybe a Collings or something like that. Fit and finish is spectacular, the flame on my particular T3… read more is wonderful, although most of them I've seen look great as well. Plays like a dream and has a very wide range of tones - the tone pot is especially useable and musical. You'd be hard pressed to find a more versatile semi-hollow for the money. While a bit thinner than a usually semi-hollow, it's still what I consider a bigger guitar...If Taylor made one of these the size of a 339, I'd be all over it!
Fantastic
I am not going to leave a lengthy review but as the proud owner of several high quality solid body guitars from PRS, Music Man and Ibanez and acoustics from Breedlove, I can say that my new semi-hollow Taylor T3 ranks right there with them. It is gorgeous, versatile, well crafted, plays exceptionally well and sounds great. If you are in the market for a semi-hollow guitar, do… read more yourself a huge favor and buy one of these gems.
