Replacement pickup
I purchased this pickup to replace the stock pickup due to the missing tone in the quantum pickup in my Ibanez. It really made a difference, and will be putting these in all my guitars.
There’s a reason why this pickup is one of the all time greats.
I bought this pickup to put in the bridge of my Schecter Nick Johnston HSS, despite a little bit of an issue with it fitting through the rout on the pickguard and the color not quite matching as well as I hoped, it's a perfect upgrade. The JB has that grit and edge to it that just makes it perfect for any guitar that needs some more attitude.
The JB is THE REAL DEAL.
There is a reason this pickup is the best selling aftermarket pickup ever. It is THE sound of 80's metal and late 70's hard rock when it's not a DiMarzio Super Distortion. It was in EVH's 5150 guitar (at one point). It is still the stock pickup in most premium Charvel/Jackson guitars. It can chug hard. The bass is tight and defined. Chords are strong and each string is defined.… read more Mids are thick and higher notes sing with authority! You'll play some solo licks and go, "Oh yeah, THAT sound!". For a pickup that is over 16k (17k with wider Trembucker bobbins same number of winds as the normal JB), it isn't terribly compressed and has a fantastic, warm clean tone when rolled down or through a clean amp. It's great in single humbucker guitars that need a singing lead tone but warm, tight lows for chord playing. Just get it. (Also, If your guitar is bright, get 250k pots.)
Great humbucker
Seymour Duncan is the Rolls Royce of Humbuckers! The best!
