Fender Texas Special Telecaster 2-piece Pickup Set
Haven't installed them yet. I'm happy that they come with all wiring pre-soldered so that I don't have to add any wires. They're a bit pricey and although I'd try them again I should have used good but less expensive pickups in the guitar I bought them for.
Very good sounding pickups, need .022 mfd cap
I put these pickups in a Warmoth telecaster I built. I consider them pretty well built, maybe not quite as well built as Lindy Fralin pickups I've used, but these have the overwound tone I was looking for. Speaking of which, overwound pickups, are a bit darker sounding than normal wound. Chords were a bit muddy with the 0.047 capacitor that came with the Emerson 4 way pot kit I… read more used. So, I swapped out the Emerson .047 cap for a .022 (yellow label) and that really added a lot of sparkle. I'd say a must have for overwound pickups like these. Very satisfied with the tone of everything.
Texas Tele Pickups
Fabulous ! Very responsive . Great highs & lows . Wouldn't be without em.
Amazed at the improvement!
I just got my MIM Telecaster back from tech this weekend and was blown away. My good guitar became a great guitar with the addition of the Texas Special pups and a 4-way switch. The versatility in tones (I mainly play blues and old rock) is amazing. Well worth the money, and by all means include the 4-way switch; the bridge and neck pups in series position is delicious!
Fender Custom Shop Texas Special Telecaster pickups
Replaced stock pickups on my 1998 MIM Tele with these. Unless you"re looking for a vintage Tele sound ( which is nice but a little thin sounding), these are the ones you want! They"ll handle anything you throw at them. from clean to to heavy overdrive. Set them a bit low to get the most out of them. Very pleased!!!!!
