Great rock and country pickup

I've had this pickup in my custom Warmoth Tele now for a few months. The guitar originally had the Brent Mason pickup layout (mini bucker neck, Strat middle, Tele bridge) but I wanted something different. Gutted all the pickups and put this in with a new bridge and turned the Tele into an Esquire style mod. Single bridge pickup only, I wired the pickup to a 3 way switch for coil read more tapping and series/parallel or whatever the other setting is...the instructions were good enough for this. Lemme say, the pickup is HOT but not TOO hot. In the standard setting, it's been great for rock and hard blues and some harder country. It's fuller than a single coil but still retains a bit of the spank in this setting. The only 2 settings I like are this one and the coil tap setting. In the tapped setting, this retains the tone and feel of a true single coil Tele bridge pickup. I played a fill in gig with a honky tonk band last week and, while I did sound check with my Strat (and it sounded great), the fiddle player was skeptical that this guitar could deliver on the honky tonk goods. I was pleasantly surprised in the first set when I set it on the coil tap and hit my first lead. It was spanky and punchy and everything you could want from a Tele bridge pickup. Fiddle player was impressed and I didn't get booed off stage (and got paid!) so life was good. Anyway, if you're looking for something different but still want to maintain that traditional Tele sound, this is your pickup. Articulate, punchy, great round tone. Just get it already.

Great for upgrade

I fell in love with the Squier Thinline semi-acoustic in mahagoni finish. Great to play, but it is a bit too weak in the output for a blues player, so I changed the bridge pickup to a Dimarzio Chopper. Well, it's not very "Tele'ish" , but it was just the right choice for the sound, I prefere. Now the output didn't match the neck pickup, and i chose a Seymour Duncan with a lovely read more jazzy sound and an output matching the Chopper. The middle position is awesome and still chrispy and easy to mange. I have the best Tale, I can wish for

I have an American Professional Tele. I really love the V Mod neck pickup. It might be my favorite sound out of all of my guitars. However the bridge is a great pickup, but not my favorite. It"s not quite twangy enough for a traditional tele, but not quite hot enough (and lacking some mids) for a great hard rock pickup for my taste. I wanted something with a little bit more low read more end and crunch. I was going to go a different route and get a Seymour Duncan little "59. My Sweetwater rep, Joe Schafer, recommended the Chopper T. I just recently got it installed and am blown away. It is great under gain and really cuts through the mix with punchy mids. I also got that humbucker crunch I was craving. It"s a tight sound in the best possible way. Clean it is quite honky, not unlike a P90. I also love the middle position using both pickups. All in all, now I have three great, usable positions on my tele. I"m still using 250K pots. Thanks again, Joe!

So good!

I had this Chopper T bridge pickup installed with a Dimarzio Twang King in the neck pickup and wow! These were installed in my 2018 Squier Affinity Telecaster. It truly took it to a whole other level! From the lows to the mids to the highs, it gave it more grunt and depth! Dont hesitate to purchase them both. Sweetheart purchasing experience was amazing as always!
