The hardware seems really solid, having ports on 3 sides is undesirable but not a deal breaker. The difference beween utility and control is confusing.. It's a fairly new product so hopefully some of the wrinkles will come out in firmware updates. What I wanted was a pedal that could manage presets and be master clock with tap tempo in a small package, this looked to be the ticket read more but.. The problem with this is that there are too many functions for the number of buttons and there is no multi function capability (hold, double tap, 2 buttons ). So you cant have a simple preset scrolling system without either. A) assign buttons to up/down bank, using a single preset per bank - bank number appears when changing so you cant see the preset name quickly + you can see the current bpm and patch name +/- you havpe to have one switch to activate B) assign buttons to going up and down presets - you are limited to the 7 presets of the bank - you cant see what the 'current preset' is C) get another footswitch, but it is hard to know what will be compatible, also having another pedal sort of negates the benefits of it being so small basically this pedal only works well if you have 4 presets which you will use in your set at a fixed BPM.

Great midi controller, with an incredibly user friendly app to go with it. The guys at Matthews really nailed it.
