Dimarzio Tone Zone Bridge
Honestly i base a lot of my opinions on experience.I had a really bad exoerience years and years ago with a Jackson custom shop Soloist. It was the guitar that was the problem.I tried various Dimarzios and gave up on Dimarzio pickups for years, mainly used Duncans, other brands.Maybe my ears have changed but Duncans dont sound as good to my ears as they once did.I got a Ibanez RG550… read more Genesis from Sweetwater last year late and wasnt to into the way it sounded. It sounded better clean than dirty.Do i did some research and seems a lot of people like the Tone Zone ,Air Norton combo.Unfortunately Sweetwater does not sell the True Velvet middle single coil pickup at the moment. The Tone Zone really suprised me,its one badass pickup, its that PAF sound, gets in that Ernie Ball EVH Musicmam territory but louder, more agressive. If you like more with more vintage aggresion with lots of low midrange this is your pickup
Stratocaster bridge solution...
Well I wanted something to match my neck and middle pickup volume wise (also DiMarzio), I was using a DP161, but it was just way too loud, I wanted to be able to switch pickups while playing live without the massive jump in volume, this one is perfect, and the sound is awesome! I should have done this years ago...
Fantastic Pickup
This was the first pickup change I've done on a guitar. I installed the tonezone in the bridge of my Ibanez RG to replace the stock quantum pickup. I have to say I'm impressed. I have more note definition and clarity than before in a warm sounding pickup. It's a bit brighter on cleans than what I expected, but that's a good thing. I've heard people describe the tone as having a… read more vocal quality and I think it's a good description. Check out the comparison with the stock pickup in the video.
PRS SE UPGRADE
I"ve got The Tone Zone to install on my PRS SE Custom 24 on bridge position. The F Spaced perfectly match with the strings. Also I got the Air Norton to the neck position. Outstanding match!! The PRS SE is a decent guitar for the price. I do believe one of the best of the category. Anyway... the fact is that the stock pickups are too bright and doesn"t have the bottom low end… read more I like to feel when I"m playing. Btw I"m playing on a cover band called Icons and Anthems and we do all Iconic Rock, Hard Rock and Metal Anthems, so I do need tone flexibility as well. The Tone Zone and Air Norton is THE TONE I"VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!! Great bottom end, easy harmonics, outstanding tone, Awesome range of tones... yes with push pull to split to single coil... best upgrade ever I could have done to my PRS SE.
Tone Zone rocks
I've used a Tone Zone before so I knew they were great pickups. I needed this one for a brighter, bolt-on style Charvel Custom Shop guitar. It just need that little extra low-mid and low end punch that TZ's are known for. That, couple with sweet but still screaming highs, make the TZ a killer pickup for these types of guitars. As always, Sweetwater and Justin Sunday were fantastic… read more to deal with. Sweetwater reminds me of the "mom and pop" music stores I'm used to dealing with from back in my early years (been playing for 37 years). They are very knowledgeable, friendly, and show genuine concern for the customer. The Tone Zone is what you need if you have a brighter guitar. It will give it punch and a killer tone.
