After owning a custom 7 string for over 20 years I switched to the 7 as my main axe during this Covid 19 pandemic. That meant I needed another 7 as a beater to spare the custom general abuse. So I snagged a great used one but I knew Id switch the bridge pickup ASAP. Im a fan of P90's which are rare for 7's and knew I wanted something a little more metal than the tone zone 7 bridge read more in my custom axe (its a strange pickup that is brillant in very bright axes). Solution was the Titan 7. It does the modern fast attack thing without putting too big a djent in your pocket. I also like the p90 like growl. Bass is tight but not anemic and everything rings out well and balanced on chords. Single note lines arent shrill and has a nice mid bump for cut. Its responsive like a PAF but it shreds but the high end isnt shrill. Really a great all round bridge pickup. Dropped it in perhaps in honor of EVH who always had to mod his axes? (RIP) For context this is in a swamp ash body with maple bolt on neck and rosewood fretboard mounted on a pick guard and it sounds great. Tonally it can play everything from Doom to Van Halen and Rush, to thrash (+ periphery of course) on it and sound great. It has that precision articulation one finds on the Evolution pickup but less grindy and over the top... rounder highs too but wicked p90-like snarl with relatively high humbucking output. I think I got the last one before you sold out? Thanks Sweetwater... I'm certain Dimarzio will make more. Working on my first album in over 21 years so its another updated tone to draw upon.

Great pickups

I bought a cheap Jackson JS22-7 for about $200 and the stock pickups were really bad. I got these over the Bare Knuckle Juggernauts because I preferred the sound of the Titans and these are quite a bit cheaper than the Juggernauts. I've owned them for just under a year now. The bridge is crunchy and aggressive under high gain. Huge chords sound great under high gain and notes don't read more get "lost" like with lower quality pickups. The neck pickup has become my favorite. It has a very nicely rounded tone for high gain leads and sounds even better on cleans. Words don't do it justice. These pickups are incredible, notes sustain for days. I will be replacing the stock DiMarzio Fusion pickups in my Ibanez RGAIX6FM with a set of 6 string Titans soon.
