Happy New Traveler Guitar Man!

I just got mine. It is a bit different than the one shown on the Sweetwater site as it has a black rubber sleeve on the clip on leg rest that makes it much easier to hold. It stays put. At first I wasn't sure because of terrible string buzz. The neck was too flat, even maybe a tiny bit of back bow. Using the easy-to-access truss rod and taking my time, I now have great action and read more no buzz. For what it does, it is great! Some may find the frets stick out a bit; I was going to file them a little but quickly found I didn't notice it anymore. Very solid, ingenious, tuners allow very fine adjustments. I have better luck tuning with a Snark clip on then a plug in chromatic for some reason. I agree with a video review I saw that this would benefit from higher tension strings than they provide, but that is a taste thing. I already ordered the next step up in D'Addario line on tension (high), and if that isn't enough I will try the "very hard" and see what happens. They are good strings, I may eventually try GHS very hard with the smoother wound bass strings. As an electric and steel-string player I am used to sliding but the bass strings make a lot of string noise so you have to lift and move (fretting finger). The piezo pickup is extremely sensitive. I use a Fishman Platinum DI when I plug into my acoustic amp, and I think this would benefit from some compression. If you look at this as what you get for what you pay for, it is wonderful. This I know, I travel quite a bit including internationally, and I will never have to leave the guitar behind again.

Mine arrived yesterday. Easy and fun to play. My big complaint is there's no tone or volume control. When plugged into an amp, the slightest movement of the fingertips over the strings is very loud. It will take a lot of getting used to and modifying my string touch before I'm ready to used it on stage. I bought it specifically to use on my band's intro to the live version of read more Hotel California, as well as Layla unplugged. It'll just take some work on my part to pull it off.

I really love my Classical nylon string Traveler. Very easy to take anywhere. Very quiet to others but put on a headphone amp, from Traveler, and headphones and you can enjoy playing anywhere. As always, I got a personal call from Sweetwater about the guitar and it arrived ready to play. Their service, selection and knowledge are outstanding.
