Protects Guitar, But.

Your Godin Montreal Premiere will be well protected with this case, but the case is very bulky and has a soft outer shell. It also is hard to keep the case open when getting your guitar out of the case, they need to improve on the hinges and go with a hard outer casing.

Not built to last

I was in love with the case until very recently when the hinge split, I guess you pay the price with a light weight case. Unfortunately the hinges are apparently extremely fragile, "Plastic"!. Plastic hinges don't seem to stand up. After only 3 years of extremely light use, one of my hinges split in half. I've just had to order a replacement set for 10$ not including shipping. read more Godin doesn't provide any instruction or assistance but luckily for us someone else that was plagued with the issue decided to. It's very lightweight, but not built to last.

Great soft case for an Epiphone Wildkat archtop

After conducting an exhaustive Internet search for the very best case for my Epiphone Wildkat I finally decided to buy the deluxe model Godin TRIC Montreal Premiere, and at $119 (Sweetwater) I couldn’t be happier. I wanted something really lightweight and very easy to carry around that still offered the kind of protection you need when transporting an archtop. I thought there read more should be shoulder straps like on a gig bag, but everyone said to avoid gig bags because neck support, room for the angled headstock and body protection were lacking. It was important I find a carrying case with cloth exterior and no external hardware to snag or mar my car’s upholstery (as no case will fit the truck of my two-seater). I also thought targeting something medium-priced at around a hundred bucks sounded in proper proportion to a $400 guitar, and anything much more costly made me queasy. The Montreal Premiere hollow-body is a smaller body model with dimensions resembling those of the Wildkat, and it comes equipped with an optional Bigsby tremolo. So I thought Godin’s dedicated Montreal case just might work. As it turns out, the plush velvety compartment is about an inch longer in the body than my Wildkat, and I plan to position a nicely covered foam baffle below the guitar body. Everything else seems to fit perfectly. This case totally fits the bill as far as price, protection, design and surface material go. As for weight, at just over three-and-a-half pounds, try beating that! I’m one happy customer, and so is my Wildkat.
