I purchased an entire set of True Velvet pickups, and they actually are, well, velvety. They are smooth and musical, and are ready to cover a lot of musical ground. I do all my pickup tests the same way; by installing them in my Player Series Strat with an upgraded Mojotone wiring harness, and plugging straight into my Deluxe Reverb reissue. I primarily play clean, so that's a great… read more setup for me, but even if you tend to use lots of effects or different gains, it's always best to hear the pickups clean in my opinion. I don't believe in gear hierarchies, so I'm not going to make any comparisons here. Simply put, these are yet another great option to have in your single coil arsenal, and at that price point there's hardly any reason to not give them a chance.

I've heard about this fantastic single coil p/u for some time now and I've learned to respect the DiMarzio band as a top notch quality pick, I cast about for a single coil to put into the rebirth of a tired o'l RG in an HSH setup. I went all DiMarzio's and what GREAT sounds this puts out!!! I am partial to the single coil sounds and this True Velvet produces one of the best sounds/tones… read more that I've heard. I do a lot of guitar mods and builds. I have put the True Velvet in about 15 different guitars and it alway does the job. I put it in the the and the middle of most all my guitars. From Country to rock and yes even extreme metal, every person I have put this pickup in there guitar they are floored by the tone. Put one in and hear it for yourself you will not be sorry.
