These Are the Best THing Since Sliced Bread
File this under the category of things you didn't know you needed until you had the chance to use them — a really handy invention. If you have a more complicated than average pedalboard, and also have big feet, this will help make hitting the right button without knocking nearby knob adjustments awry on pedals that have them in close proximity. Plus you can less painfully play… read more with bare feet (or with your hands if, like me, you have part of your pedal collection at tabletop height for knob twiddling. It gives you a slightly bigger target to hit when what you really want to be concentrating on something else (the music). I keep coming back to Sweetwater and buying more.
Let’s clear up the bad reviews.
I've owned about 20 so far none that I've own have cracked broke or stripped these things are so amazing for the barefooted player. I bought my first batch when the company first came out. It's been a game changer ever since my bare feet thank me for this. I can see the clear version cracking but the metal ones work great I have both types and they are holding up great!
Awesome
These are really great, they are clear so you can see the light behind them. Just make sure you put a drop of locktite (blue) on the screws to keep them from backing out.
Buttons crack over time
I have quite a few buttons on my rig. 15 in total. I bought a lot of these clear caps because the LED's needed to be seen so I could know which settings were enabled. Looking back it's probably not as necessary given my use, but I still like the idea. My problem is these things crack easily. One exploded as I was putting it on my pedal. I likely over tightened it and it simply… read more couldn't hold up. However I have had 3 crack from regular use. I love the product, but these clear ones are not made to be used for stomping on. There is no point in buying one if it's just going to crack. I'll likely end up trying a few metal ones instead.
Good and bad idea item.
I have 12 of them. (Mostly for my AX8 and Suhr Riot and Shiba drive, etc...) Great idea but there are some issues. First, depending on the LED light"s position, it may hit the LED light if it"s located too close to the foot switch. (Digitech Drop pedal has this problem.) Second, sometimes it blocks the tap tempo light (depending on where you stand) so I had to change it with a… read more clear one. (It was a orange one that I had) Third, the bolts leave marks on the surface of the foot switch. (It"s ok though...) By the way, there"s a good alternative one which is a Moore Candy Switch Topper. It serves with most pedals, not every pedals so you should be careful. It doesn"t fit with my Suhr pedals which have slightly thicker foot switches. I hope this help your future purchase.
