Introduction to Tube
Had this amp almost two years, and frankly played it only a handful of times until just recently. Reason being I have three young children and need the plug and play convenience of my solid state Blues Cube, especially late at night. Try playing a tube amp when everyone else is asleep. So I could never get a decent sound- good enough with pedals, but I knew something was missing.… read more Lately however, I've abandoned pedals for the most part, feeling pretty good about playing clean, ditching all the cables and pedal board nonsense- and plugging just guitar into amp. As good as it sounds on the BC, I knew tubes would take it to a whole different level. But first how to tame the beast? Did some research, figured out it has an attenuated setting, 11w instead of 22, as well as a dirt channel (which I never really liked before with all the pedal noise and confusion I was throwing at it, and knowing squat about effects loops). Add a clean boost in front, along with an eq pedal in the effects loop, now the dirt channel comes alive with satisfyingly smooth crunch, sweet violin like sustain, that edge of breakup tube saturation with the gain rolled back- whatever you want really, all at comfortable bedroom volume. The kind of sound and touch and feel that makes you want to keep playing all night long. (BTW I actually do have a Bugera attenuator, still trying to get it to work- but what a pain in the ### to set up everytime to play).
Very Impressed
I am VERY impressed with the tone of this amp and that is not something I say easily. Might be my favorite clean amp I have ever played. Overdriven tone is quite usable as well. Couldnt be happier.

Not too Shabby
Wonderful clean channel. Feel like the Gain channel could be a bit better. I can get great tones at bedroom levels. On the other hand gets way louder than I'll ever need. Heavy but seems to be of really nice quality. Hard to beat the price!
Home run
First off, Sweetwater is amazing. I've never gone wrong with them and they have -- hands down -- the best customer service of any company I've ever dealt with. Full stop. Second, this amp is amazing. The cleans are out of this world. It sounds great even at low volumes, but it is astounding when moved up to 5 on master and channel. It also takes pedals very well. I used the effects… read more loop with my multi effects processor on it into the clean channel with gain and compression before the pre-amp and reverb and delay after and it was unbelievable. The value is here is out of this world and you can't go wrong.
