Works great, easy to do
Long story short - I had an old MIM Strat that didn't work anymore and I put it away and never played it. Then one day I decided to see what I could do about it. I bought this setup with the pickguard loaded with the pickups, switch, and pots. I had a friend who knows how to solder help me take the old one out and put the new one in. I highly recommend that you watch the short… read more video on how to do it. You need a soldering iron. The only additional thing I had to do was set the pickup heights, which is just turning a screw with a screwdriver. There are several videos on how to do that, it's easy. Disappointed
I bought this because I got a Fender Squire as a project guitar. But, when I fired it up expecting great things, I was immediately let down. The pickups are dull and hardly an upgrade to the… read more squire pickups it came with. I guess having it prewired was a perk with the trade off of overall quality of sound. I would not recommend to anyone.
