Awesome Pickups For My MIM Strat
Someone actually gave me a set of these to try for my 1991 Mexican Strat. They slid right in the cavities without any issues. When I plugged the guitar in I was astounded at the difference in the sound. I bought them from the guy immediately. They are quiet and very Fender sounding. Certainly better sounding than the Mexican originals. A friend of mine was who has a couple different… read more Strats he plays was so impressed he went out and bought a set for one of his. I know the purists out there might not fall in love with them but if you're tired of the noise on those high bridge leads you might give these a shot.
I Made the Right Choice
If your anything like me, then picking out the next set of pick-ups to upgrade your guitar with is a laborious process to say the least. Not that we don't enjoy the countless hours agonizing over what to choose, but in the end it just needs to feel right. Ultimately i decided on the Fender Vintage Noiseless over some seymour duncans, and I paired them with Mojo Tone vintage switch… read more preassembly. The Mojo Tone pots were 500k just like the Fender vintage ones and I have to say... I love these! I am so happy how my choice has worked out. They sound so amazing and offer much more range than the regular alnico II that my MiM strat had. The overall tones are similar but on the vintage the clarity and life in each note on each string on each pickup blows me away. These offer range to play so many different styles, and lets be honest; they look so amazing. I definitely would recommend if the vintage tone is something your looking for.
Super quiet - great Fender sound
Love these pickups! They are packed with new tone/vol pots - I went ahead and also added a CRL switch since I was doing a new wiring job. First - I set them up with Fender specs then lowered them a bit (as others have stated - pic attached) and that really does open these up. I will be installing these in my other Strat and would recommend them to anyone wanting a traditional… read more sound with zero noise. Next - They sound very vintage - they give to me the perfect Strat sound - every position is what I would describe as the quintessential Stratocaster sound. Third - They sound great in clean and crunchy environments - They are very great for the Blues and a Tubescreamer pushing any good tube amp - amazing sound. All-in-all - a great deal on bringing not only a nice vintage sound to a new Strat but also the elimination of any noise/hum. These are keepers.
Yeah, Really THAT Good!
I am always, first and foremost, just an old blues guy, and this is where, in my estimation, these pickups absolutely shine. Smooth low tones, gritty high end, full mids...if I were to hear later that these pickups were designed with blues guitar in mind, all I could say is you succeeded! You don't need to "hope to be heard" with these Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups, either. The… read more attack and decay characteristics are everything you'd hoped for, and expect to get, from Fender. So if you love your Strat and want your blues to have something to say, then make this investment into your axe. Worth every dime!
Quality pickups and the sound...wow!
Put these in a rebuild of an old Brownsville strat. These Fender beauties are special. I think that sums them up, they sound amazing, I can go past noon on my amp before I get even any Hiss/hum noise out of them, they also stay clear and chime really well without too much quack ( which I didn't want anyway) right up the dial on a clean channel.
