No 60hz Hum
I had theses noiseless pickups installed on my new Fender American Professional II Telecaster by the professionals at Sweetwater, at time of purchase from Sweetwater. My reasoning was twofold. 1. Since the Ultra Telecasters were on backorder, adding the noiseless pickups would bring the Pro II very near to the features of the Ultra. I also added the locking tuning keys. 2. No… read more annoying 60Hz hum. I play clean, so any 60Hz hum will not be tolerated. After playing this guitar with the noiseless pickups through a Fender Blues Junior IV amp for about 3 weeks now, for me, the tone of noiseless pickups suits me quite well. I am very satisfied with how good they sound, and they sound very near to the sound quality of the noiseless pickups on my American Ultra Stratocaster. Maybe just a "hair" less volume on the neck pickup. No big deal.
Fender Vintage Noiseless Tele Pickups
Awesome. Unlike the stock pickups, these have warmth, depth, clarity and they are indeed, noiseless. Thanks go to Alex Campos for answering questions I had on the pickups. Thanks Sweetwater!
Have these in a Nashville Tele - love them to death
The bridge and neck positions in my Nashville telecaster come with these pickups, and they are seriously warm and wonderful sounding pickups. On their own, they provide plenty of clarity, but after modding my guitar with a switch so that I could play them together, tonal perfection was achieved. In a world where it feels like almost every electric guitar out there uses Alnico… read more 5 magnets, the Alnico 2 construction of this set brings out an entirely creamier bluesy tone that sets it apart from the other guitars in my collection.
Best upgrade for $...
Put these in my squire classic vibe tele. For $... you can't go wrong. They went in without any cavity issues.I put the generation 4 in my other classic vibe tele for the extra $... Both sound great. The generation 4s have more tele twang and midrange.the 1st generation are a bit warmer and bossier, very humbucker sounding. Glad I got both sets to compare. Either set is buzz free.
Day and Night difference!
I have a MIM Tele that came with single coil pickups. When playing live, and I would kick in the overdrive pedal, the AC hum was noticeably obvious. Used a noise gate, but the hum was just unbearable. It really stood out in live recordings. Switched to the Fender Vintage Noiseless Pickups and what a difference! No more use for the noise gate. The best upgrade I've done so far.
