Unique Sound Worthy of Your Pedal Board
This pedal produces a sound somewhere between a wah and a flanger and a Leslie, but not exactly like any of those which is why this pedal is so unique. Trippy, swirly vibes, man. I really only use the "chorus" setting, but there's a unique sounding vibrato available with the flip of a switch. Construction is rock solid with a metal housing and an easy to use switch. Three knobs,… read more so it's easy to tweak. Be aware that this pedal does have a 2-3 second delay when disengaging the effect. This is by design (I looked it up). Apparently an actual uni-vibe would take some time to spin down, so TC emulated that exactly in their effort to clone the uni-vibe down to the penny. Putting this in an effects loop would eliminate this "spin down". I'm very happy with this pedal and would recommend it to anyone looking for a more experimental sound to add to their chain.
Nice features in the tone print editor
Aside from the great vibe sounds that's already been commented on I'd like to add a few points regarding the tone print editor which I found just fantastic. Turns out the pedal also has a boost and drive setting as well as left and right phase reversal. Plus a set of modulations covering various types of chorus, vibrato and flanger. Although I haven't been able to try the phase… read more reversal settings as I'm without dual amps right now I did test the boost and drive. The tone print editor allowed me to create a univibe and boost pedal within the viscous vibe by linking the intensity knob to the mix and depth settings while linking the volumen to the boost and out level. This way I can cut off the uni vibe effect entirely by driving the intensity knob to zero. The volume knob then works as a boost pedal which saves me space on the pedal board when I don't need the univibe effect.
Vibe
I paired this with a 69 fuzz and a compression pedal and I love it jimi would be proud
High Viscosity
The Viscous Vibe does exactly what I hoped it would do. T.C. knocked it out of the park again. It was ordered on a Monday and it arrived that Wednesday. That is what can be expected of Sweetwater and their FANTASTIC service. Thanks for the candy. You guys rock \,,/{~,>}\,,/
The swirl I was looking for
I love the swirl and motion this creates. Into a dirty or clean amp it sounds amazing. Put it AFTER drive pedals if that’s where you get your dirt. You can tell TC used their ears to dial this in. I’ve used a real univibe and this is quieter and more consistent. It has that warmth and swoosh I was looking for. Other univibe type modern pedals always missed something. It either… read more sounded too trebly, the waveform was wrong or it didn’t have that deep slam I wanted. I didn’t want a chorus or a phaser. I wanted this sound and got it. I love the tone print editor where I can create my ideal univibe. It’s amazing what you can creat with that. Very innovative.
