I'll try to make this short, but I'm so blown away right now. I met a representative from DR at Americana Fest 2018 and explained to him my grueling (and expensive) issue with breaking strings. I have to have two guitars at every show because it is inevitable that I break a string every performance (about one or two per hour). I've had both guitars gone over to be sure it is… read more not physical issue. Turns out, I sweat battery acid and am just plain hard on the strings. I was using Elixir Polyweb (at $13+ per set) for years, then tried the EB "unbreakable" offering (broke two during my first set). I went back to Elixir assuming they would be the best against corrosion. Then I was introduced to the DR Veritas. The rep gave me one set to try. Knowing I had an outdoor show coming up that weekend in Ohio I held onto them and put them on right before the show. I was amazed when I was down to the last couple songs of the night and still had a complete set of strings! I ended up finishing the show - really giving them hell at the end. I decided to risk using them for a second night, knowing I had my backup ready to go. The next night in Pennsylvania I did an intimate indoor show and explained to the audience that I was taking a chance on these strings and we would all see how they did on their second show. Unbelievably, they made it through 3 hours of non-stop abuse and sweat! Here comes the real kicker... I used them again the next night and STILL made it through the whole show! I didn't change them until the following week, and that was just out of precaution! I AM 100% SOLD ON THESE STRINGS! I believe the difference maker is that the core of these strings is coated and protected between the core and the wrap. This was you're not breaking the seal by picking the strings. No matter what the science is, the result was undeniable. Mind officially BLOWN!
