Awesome little amp
This isn't a detailed reason why I bought this amp. I saw it, and because I have a Vox Beatle mini stack that I love, bought this one for my acoustic instruments (ʻukuleles and guitars). Wow. Is this little buggah loud!! I like the reverb. Very nice. And the fact that I can plug in a mic is a major plus. It's light, and sounds great. The cabinet is a tough plastic, and seems durable… read more enough. Only time will tell. It would be nice if it came with a cover. But fear not. There are aftermarket covers out there. This series if amps has one for acoustic instruments, one for bass instruments, and one for keyboards. They all appear to be the same size, so a cover for one is a cover for all 3!! Have fun and be well.
WOW!!!
I was skeptical when I ordered this. It is my first Vox amp. Then, I turned it on and played a Line 6 Variax and a Yamaha acoustic through it. WOW!!! Then, I ordered a Vox amp for my electric guitars. This little amp is warm, strong, and gave me eargasms. Everything about it fits me perfectly in our small studio. I haven't found anything about this amp, that I do not like. I LOVE… read more this amp! I hope my wife doesn't get too jealous when I bring this amp to bed with me...
Best Bang for Buck Acoustic I've Found
This is an extremely impressive unit. It has a very natural sounding output with minimal gloss or processing, a 3-band EQ, a solid reverb and chorus (and the ability to combine them), a XLR mic jack with phantom power, and it weights less than a small sack of potatoes. And it's... less than any relative competition. Why these are not flying off the shelves is beyond me. I read some… read more reviews that say this sounds "tinny" and it makes me wonder if they're listening to the same amp. It's not big, but it has a room-filling sound that will cover just about any small gig you'd find yourself in. Don't be fooled, while it might not be as booming as the "50 watts" on the tag might suggest it's more than anyone could need without micing it. I ABed it next to my band's rhythm guitarist's Fender Acoustasonic 40 and the Vox blew it out of the room. Great service from Sweetwater and my rep Rob as always.
Powerful punch
Don't let the size fool you. This amp is fantastic. Clean rich sound, the chorus/reverb is amazing. My guitar sounds amazing. My band mates are blown away by the VX50AG too! Studio or stage...this amp fits the bill!
Great amp
What I love most about this amp is that it has both reverb and chorus. All of the other ones in my price range had one of the other. My Ovation sounds great on this. So clear with awesome tone. Definitely a great purchase. The service from Darius at Sweetwater was first class as always too.
