Washburn Apprentice G-Mini 5

I purchased this guitar a few months ago because I was looking for a smaller guitar that I could just sit around and play. (I have a '92 Guid D4-NT that I love, but it's not a "lap size" so I wanted something smaller.) My daughter has a Taylor G-Mini that is really nice, but it's also really expensive. Anyway, I'm retired and don't have a lot of guitar funds available, so, I opted read more for this Washburn Apprentice G-Mini 5 and I'm so glad I did. It's a great little guitar at a great price. The construction, fit, and finish is excellent. The sound is very full and tone is great. It came strung with 12's and I changed it out with 10's and very slightly adjusted the neck and it now has a very bright sound. I'm thinking of putting the 12's back on it to see if it might soften the sound a bit. All said and done, I highly recommend this little guitar. It is well made, fun and easy to play, sounds great, and comes with an amazing gig bag that rivals the Taylor G-Mini gig bag. I am very happy with it. Oh, and I ordered a Taylor G-Mini pick guard which fits perfectly. This is a really nice personal size guitar that I know you will find very enjoyable……and not to mention…….very affordable.

Sounds amazing! Live the size and the shape of the body, fits perfectly and I'm very satisfied on everything this guitar has to offer.

Great for Nashville tuning

It sounds pretty good strung normally - but I bought it specifically for Nashville tuning, and it's really nice for that. It was quite playable out of the box. I did not put a new nut on it for Nashville tuning but I did cut the slots just a bit lower and it is really playable now in Nashville tuning. I did also sand down the saddle a bit and adjust the truss rod but nothing read more major - and the frets needed no work at all. The top is thin to give plenty of sound for such a small bodied guitar and the short scale just makes it fun and easier to stretch and reach where I might not quite make it on a longer scale. I would buy this guitar again, it's a good value for the price.
