First time for XT's
After going to a workshop for strings and how they affect tone that was put on by Sweetwater, I decided to try a pack of these xt's. WOW. I play a maple top, side and back, aef37 Ibanez. Now playing on a worship team, I wanted to mellow my tone. while at the workshop I got the suggestion to go up a size on strings and try the new xt strings. What I can tell you at this time is as… read more follows. 1) I got my lower tone with great projection. The sound guy on the worship team said he noticed less high brights and could now turn me up in the mix with out high end crackel. 2) the guitar now seems to have more sustain. I can let a single chord ring and now have to dampen the string to stop the chord because it rings for such a great duration. 3) These strings have seemed to bring new life into a 18 to 20 year old guitar. Summary: I now have a new primary go to string. I will keep these on this guitar from now on. I'm sold on the D'addario xt size 13/56 phosphor bronze.
