A Stand Out
These strings are great. I've been using Elixir for many years to this point, but the unwound strings break too often for me nowadays. I've repaired potential burrs in saddles, tried new sets hoping for lemons and no luck. I went on a search and landed on these. They're not as slick as Elixir, which I used to like, but they're fairly smooth and definitely sound brighter and punchier… read more than the Elixir. There was an adjustment period for me, but if you're coming from the general uncoated string, I think it'll be fairly seamless while reaping the benefits. Also, I haven't broken a string yet. Good deal! Tension on Elixir feels a little more stiff. These are probably just a little lighter I'd say, but not as light as Slinky - from what I feel at least. They last, sound great, feel good and are durable.
They’re more stiff than the regular D’Addario strings
They don't feel as normal as stated. The steel cores give them a different feel. If you have uses XL's in the past, these will feel completely new. The corrosion didn't last any longer. These felt old in feel in a couple of days.
